About

Twenty years of building for the web, ten of them in enterprise React

Senior Frontend Engineer with 20 years of software development experience, specializing in enterprise applications built with React, Next.js, and TypeScript. I work across frontend architecture, design systems, performance optimization, accessibility, and technical leadership of teams of up to 10 engineers.

How I work

Engineering principles

Four positions that shape how I approach a codebase, drawn from the work in the case studies.

  • Architecture is what lets a team keep moving

Most frontend pain is structural: unclear boundaries, state in the wrong place, components that know too much. I spend my time on those boundaries — component and module structure, state strategy, data-fetching patterns — because that is what decides how the next twelve months of feature work will feel.

  • Accessibility is a functional requirement

Keyboard operation, semantics and focus behaviour belong in the reusable components, not in a remediation pass at the end. Building them in once means every screen assembled from those components inherits the behaviour.

  • Measure, then optimize

Code splitting, lazy loading and bundle work pay off when they are aimed at something real. On data-heavy dashboards and real-time streams, the interesting question is usually not "is this fast" but "what is this doing that it does not need to do yet".

  • Standards beat heroics

Leading a team of 8-10 engineers taught me that shared standards, review habits and a documented component library outlast any individual contribution. Mentoring is part of the engineering work, not adjacent to it.
